Team Members will receive all the details after they register for the Team.

If you are a Trained MPT Peace Team member, we could use your help.  Please join our Domestic Peace Team at the MI Body, MI Choice Women’s March on Saturday, Oct 2, 2021 at the Michigan Capital in Lansing, Michigan. The organizers at this time are estimating 700 people at the event. Since feelings about reproductive rights run high, the organizers are requesting a peace team to keep everyone safe - - No matter what their position on the issues may be.

The Peace Team will meet at 11:00 a.m. for orientation at a nearby location. The event begins with speakers at 12:00 noon. The event organizers hope to have a march on the sidewalk from the Capital on Michigan Avenue to Cedar St and back (about a mile). The event will end by 4:00 p.m.  Peace Team members will debrief after the event at the orientation site.

If you are willing to serve on this Peace Team, contact Mary Hanna or Mary Ashley via email or by phone at 517-489-2607

Domestic Peace Teams are teams placed within

the U.S. borders.  They are usually short-term (anywhere from a few hours to a few days).  To serve on one of our Domestic Teams, you must complete our Violence De-escalation Skills Training.  The nature of Domestic Teams is that they are often unpredictable:  If we're lucky, we may get a few weeks notice (for example, to prevent violence at a rally).  Often, however, we only get a few days notice...usually in reaction to something that's happening in the news.  Being a part of these Teams is extremely rewarding:  You get to see the power and efficacy of nonviolence in action.  If you're interested in learning more about our Domestic Peace Teams, please contact Kim Redgian .
